We now have the new inserts for Blessings boots (another trip to the hospital!). With our Blue badge things are so much easier when we have to go the hospital as we can park right outside where we need to go for Blessing appointments. I still feel a little nervous about parking in the disabled spaces as if someone might come up to me and say ‘Why are you parking here?!’ I shouldn’t as it helps Blessing and me as her carer and she is entitled to it.

I did feel a bit better when I saw a little boy a bit older than Blessing with the same walk and the same special boots as her being taken from a car parked in the parking for the disabled. He had Downs Syndrome and Hypermobility and Hypertonia are common with that type of disability so he may well have the same issues with mobility as her.

I had also to ring the Adoption Support Team from the LA that placed Blessing as despite their promises we hadn’t received any Adoption Allowance payments yet. It turned out there had been some mix up with bank account details but we should be getting our back dated payments (April-June) on Friday this week and then the fortnightly payments will then continue…allegedly!

There was supposed to be a panel last week too, to discuss our application for the 2009/2010 allowance (the one that somehow got lost for 10 months!) but it was cancelled as many of the panel were ill. It should go to panel next week now so hopefully we’ll hear by the end of the week. Adoption seems to be littered with panels!
