Extra Mile Loire Challenge 2009

St. Francis’ Children’s Society are delighted to be taking part in the Heald Solicitors Extra Mile Loire Cycle Challenge 2009.

Richard Gordon, Director at St Francis says "Three friends (Martin Cave, Manuel Peralta and Iain Row of Prominent Media Web Design and Ecommerce Services) and I will cycle in relay on 25, 26 and 27 September 2009 some 500 miles from Rouen in North-West France to Amboise, via an overnight stop at Le Mans, with a 167 mile circular tour of Loire Valley on the final day.  Our team name is Frankie's Kids."

Preston Ayres, Extra Mile Trustee says “This promises to be an exceptional Challenge, passing through mixed terrain with something for everyone, of whatever ability. Cycling down the Mulsanne Straight and around the Arnage Corner on the Le Mans race circuit, passing spectacular chateaux and taking in some breathtaking countryside, the route will have plenty of highlights.”

Every penny of funds raised will be donated to charity.  This is because the event is sponsored by Heald Solicitors, who cover all administrative costs, and each team separately pays an entry fee of £299 per rider.   Team Frankie's Kids has pledged to raise £2,000 in sponsorship funds of which two thirds will be donated to St. Francis’ Children’s Society, and one third to the three charities chosen by the Extra Mile Committee.  These are the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI), MK Snap - a local special needs charity, and The Prostate Cancer Charity.

If you would like to sponsor Team Frankie's Kids and in so doing support these much needed services, please either contact Richard Gordon on 01908 572700 or visit www.justgiving.com/teamfrankieskids
