Children Waiting

At any one time there are likely to be approximately 4,000 children in the UK waiting for new families.

Perhaps you could become a parent to:

  • A single child or a group of brothers and sisters.
  • A child of black or mixed heritage who needs to grow up in a family like his/her own.
  • A child with a disability, where there's a package of support to help.

The children who wait will be mostly in temporary foster care. For various reasons, they will have had to move from their families of birth, and need to find security, safety and love in an adoptive family.

As they are likely to have had a difficult start in life, they will probably continue to present challenges to the families that care for them. They all deserve, however, the chance to grow into happy and healthy young people, who will bring joy and rewards to those that parent them.

Click on the links to the right to find out more about the type of children who are waiting adoption.
