Widening Horizons

Every child is an individual with individual needs, and Widening Horizons seeks to find adoptive parents are who are willing to see that whole child first, and not rule them out because they have additional needs.

Widening Horizons aims to broaden the understanding of those already engaged in the process of applying to adopt, and to broaden our own recruitment strategies to reach those who may may already have knowledge and experience.

Out of the thousands of children awaiting adoption in the UK, a significant number will have some additional special need, whether minor or more significant. As every child is unique and has his or her own needs, we seek to find parents that are open minded to the needs of the child, and not rule them out because of it.

Widening Horizons is working in conjunction with Young Creations, a local inclusive dance and drama group, and is also in consultation with existing adoptive parents.

We welcome anyone interested in being involved, and welcome any enquiries. Please contact us.

Widening Horizons will be sponsoring the DAPA Disability And Participatory Arts festival. This will be held at The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough from Mon 17th May - Fri 21st May. It will include a week of workshops and performances celebrating participation in performing arts. There will be different performances on Thurs 20th May and a social worker will be available on that day at The Castle if anyone would like to talk to her.
