Easy fundraising ideas
As a registered children’s charity, SFCS is always incredibly grateful to the wonderful people who selflessly take on crazy challenges to raise much-needed funds for us.
During 2015, our fundraisers took part in challenges such as a sponsored skydive, a 500-mile cycle ride and a year-long walking challenge. Our supporters have also organised some fantastic fundraising events for us, not least a charity darts event with former world champion, Martin Adams.
We have nothing but admiration for the wonderful people who go that extra mile to support our work with adopted children and their families, and with others whose lives have been touched by adoption. If you want to find out about taking on a personal challenge to raise funds for SFCS, visit our Fundraising Challenges page for more information.
But you don’t have to be a daredevil to raise funds for SFCS. There are numerous ways you can get involved – see below for some great ideas.
Host a Dinner4Good party
For those of you who would prefer NOT to risk life and limb for SFCS, how about raising money for us simply by doing something you enjoy – having your friends round for dinner!
The idea is that you invite your friends over for a dinner party, and you all donate the money you would have spent on a night out to SFCS instead. Just visit www.dinner4good.com/sfcs and you’ll see it couldn’t be easier to Host a Dinner.
Dinner4Good takes care of everything, including the donations and the Gift Aid application – so all you have to do is eat, drink and enjoy yourselves!
Are you a keen online shopper? Did you know that you could raise some extra funds for SFCS, at no cost to yourself, just by visiting our page on the easyfundraising.org.uk website before you start shopping…
Your final bill will be exactly the same as it would have been if you’d gone straight to the retailer, but as a thank you for shopping with them, they will make a donation to Easyfundraising when the transaction is completed, which will then be passed to us.
Get the kids involved
We love it when local schools and children’s groups get involved with what we’re doing. And the children themselves love the opportunity to do something different and organise a special event to fundraise for us.
Younger children might like to host a school Cake Bake, or have a Fancy Dress Day, or perhaps run an art or story competition in aid of the Society. For the older ones, how about an X-Factor style Talent Contest, or a Fashion Show, or maybe even a Sponsored Sports Challenge. The sky’s the limit!
If your child’s school would be interested in supporting us, do get in touch.
