Adopted daughter playing in leaves with mother

SFCS Family Centre

Opened in May 2014, the SFCS Family Centre is a purpose-built centre designed to support and nurture adopted children and their families.

Significant numbers of children in care come from complex backgrounds and have had traumatic experiences; some of these children need specialised therapeutic support in order to settle and thrive throughout their developing life. This is where the Centre comes in.

The Centre is light and inviting, and provides a safe and secure space where direct work with children, adults and families can be undertaken.

The Centre provides families with varied opportunities to connect with each other with the support of our specialist social workers.  A soft and comfortable room for a quiet therapy session, a wipe-clean space to ‘get messy’ in, or an enclosed garden to run around in and let off steam – whatever your family needs, our Centre can provide it.

Room hire

Rooms within the SFCS Family Centre are available for hire to providers of health or social care, public sector organisations, charities and voluntary organisations, adopters, and local families.

Rooms can be hired on weekdays during the Society’s normal office hours.
