The services offered by St. Francis’ Children’s Society can help anyone who has been affected by adoption. Our services fall under three main banners:
Our adoption service is open to any adult who is considering adopting a child.
We welcome all kinds of families for all kinds of children, regardless of age, race, cultural background, religion, marital status or sexual orientation.
SFCS is especially committed to finding families for those children who wait longest in the care system before finding adoptive families. This includes children over the age of 4, children from black and ethnic minority backgrounds, sibling groups and children with additional needs.
SFCS adopters receive a promise of full support throughout their adoption journey, and can access a wide range of services free of charge.
Preparation groups, training, surgery appointments and family events are open to all, and more specialised therapy and counselling will be available to you if you need it.
Birth Connections is our renowned support service for birth families who have had a family member adopted.
Offering both group support and individual counselling, this service helps birth relatives to come to terms with the loss they have experienced and to move on with their lives.
The Birth Connections service is commissioned through local authorities, and is currently available to individuals in the Buckinghamshire Council area.
We can also help birth families who are trying to trace family members who were adopted through SFCS as children.
As well as helping individuals to trace the written records relating to their adoption, and potentially finding their family members, we provide all of the emotional support and counselling required for this life-changing journey.
