We are delighted to announce that booking for the SFCS Annual Conference is now open!

Following the success of last year’s annual conference, we will once again welcome Denise Golding and Zach Gomm to Milton Keynes. This year, they will present a two-day conference for adopters, foster carers, special guardians and professionals who work with teenagers who present challenging behaviours. The conference will take place on Monday 12th – Tuesday 13th November at the Ridgeway Centre in Milton Keynes.

Certified instructors, Denise Golding & Zach GommDenise and Zach are certified instructors of The Great Behavior Breakdown by Bryan Post.  Their Live Life and Love Healing course focuses on an attachment, love-based parenting approach which uses techniques and strategies from The Great Behavior Breakdown, incorporating PACE, and some therapy and sensory integration techniques.

This workshop focuses on the particular difficulties faced by teenagers and provides techniques to help parents, carers and professionals manage their behaviours and support their development. You will learn practical strategies and be provided with a toolbox of techniques to manage challenging teen behaviours and lower the stress for yourself.

This workshop covers a range of subjects including:

  • Core messages of teen age and teenage behaviours
  • The physiology of the teenage brain and teen age as a life stage
  • Parenting/supporting teens with trauma and attachment disruption; incorporating the Stress Model: Love v Fear and the paramount need to keep connected in the relationship
  • The need for adult self-regulation
  • Transitions / Defiance and Aggression and Hyper and Hypo behaviours
  • Addictive behaviours: Stealing and self-harm
  • Social media, screens and keeping safe online
  • Sex, sexuality and sexualised behaviours
  • Personal hygiene and self-care
  • Identity and Lifestory Work

Further details regarding the day can be found in the conference leaflet.

Tickets cost just £175 for the entire conference, which includes all handouts, lunch and refreshments throughout both days. We are also offering a limited number of reduced rate tickets (£70 each for the whole conference) to SFCS adopters – please see the conference leaflet to find out how to secure these tickets if this applies to you.
