As a registered charity, SFCS relies on donations and fundraising efforts to provide support services to our families. At a time like this, those support services are more important than ever.
Recruiting adopters requires time and resources. Assessing and preparing a family for adoption takes many hours of social work time, then there’s the support services we provide, and ‘being there’ for that child and their family over the years ahead. SFCS receives no public funding and many of our support services are dependent on donations, the fundraising efforts of our supporters and support from external companies and organisations.
We’re always delighted to receive donations from our supporters. But did you know there are a number of ways you can support SFCS which won’t cost you a penny! Every time you shop online, you can support SFCS by signing up with two simple fundraising schemes.
EasyFundraising is the UK’s biggest charity fundraising website. It’s simple to use and it’s free. The website turns your everyday online shopping into donations for SFCS, at no cost to you.
EasyFundraising is partnered with over 4,000 retailers. All you have to do is visit your favourite retailers through the Easyfundraising website and shop as normal. Once you’ve made a purchase the retailer will then make a small donation to SFCS to say “thank you”. Find out more about how Easyfundraising works and how easy it is to support us.
If you browse the internet using Google Chrome, you can add a browser extension which will flag up a little ‘EasyFundraising reminder’ every time you visit an eligible online store. So you don’t have to remember which retailers EasyFundraising works with and SFCS will never miss out on a donation! Find out more here.
We are also registered with AmazonSmile. AmazonSmile offers the same products, prices and shopping features as Amazon.co.uk. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. It may not sound much, but it all adds up! Sign up to support SFCS here.
As with Easy Fundraising, you can also use a browser extension called SmileMatic, which automatically re-directs you to the Amazon Smile page every time you go to visit the Amazon site – so you don’t have to worry about forgetting each time you need to shop. It only takes a few seconds – find out more here.
We hope you’ll feel able to sign up to one or both of these simple schemes, and support SFCS for free! Thank you for your support – every little helps.
Hi, fellow parishioner, Joanna Subrai from Burnham Slough has asked about address to obtain St Francis Orphans red box scheme and thinks could be MHM, could this be correct?
Hello Maria. St. Francis’ Children’s Society is an adoption agency not an orphanage, but we used to have a green box scheme a good while ago, where people had green money boxes to put their spare change in, which were passed to us when they were full. I’m afraid I’m not familiar with MHM. If you or Joanna wanted to support SFCS, there are lots of ways you can do that – please see https://www.sfcs.org.uk/ways-to-help/
Thank you!
