You may be aware that new data protection laws are coming into force in May 2018.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) marks a big change to current laws and is designed to offer the consumer as much protection as possible. As a responsible organisation, we will be making sure we comply fully with the new regulations.
One of the biggest changes is that businesses now need explicit consent from everyone it wishes to communicate with. At present, we send out a regular E-News and we frequently contact our adopters with details of training and family events we are running for our adoptive families. However, we will now need you to positively OPT IN if you wish to continue receiving these updates.
We have taken this change as an opportunity to review how we use email to contact the people we work with. As such, we are now offering three separate mailings:
Our monthly newsletter features our latest news and important updates from the adoption sector.
If you would like to receive (or continue to receive) this mailing, please subscribe here. (Pl ease note: to further protect you, SFCS uses a double opt-in system, so you will need to click on the link which is emailed to you to complete your registration.)
Our volunteering and fundraising newsletter provides loads of ideas and suggestions for how you can get involved with your favourite children’s charity.
If you would like to receive this mailing, please subscribe here. (Please note: to further protect you, SFCS uses a double opt-in system, so you will need to click on the link which is emailed to you to complete your registration.)
These mailings contain full details of all the family social events and training we offer our adoptive families throughout the year. This is only available to people who have adopted through SFCS; we will be contacting all of our adopters individually to invite them to subscribe to this mailing.
We will not share your data with anyone else, and your details will be stored securely. We will only contact you with the specific mailings you have subscribed to. And if you change your mind at any time, you can unsubscribe easily from any of our mailings – simply use the links which will appear in every message we send you, or contact us directly.
We really hope that you enjoy and benefit from our various mailings. We value our relationship with you and want to stay in touch, so we hope that you will take the opportunity to ‘opt in’.
If you have any queries regarding GDPR, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
