During the month of December, we’re hosting both of our information events early in the month, so that we can see all you prospective adopters before you get too busy in the run-up to Christmas!
Our main event will still take place on the First Wednesday of the month, on Wednesday 6th December between 6.30pm and 8pm. And we will be moving our regular Lunchtime Drop-In forward one week, and open our doors between 12 noon and 2pm on Friday 8th December. We hope that one of these times will suit you.
If you’re not able to attend one of these events, that doesn’t mean your adoption journey has to be put on hold. The SFCS website includes a host of information and resources which can help you to find out more about adoption, what the process involves and whether SFCS is the right agency for you.
If you’re considering adoption, our Who can adopt? page will help you to think about whether this is the right path for you and your family.
Everyone’s experience of the adoption process will be unique, but our adoption process page will give you a snapshot of the road to adoption. And if that piques your interest, you can find out much more by reading our Adoption Information Pack. This document takes you through the adoption process in greater detail, tells you more about the children who are awaiting adoption, and shares the viewpoints of both adopters and adopted children.
Our Adoption Support section will tell you all about the wide range of support which will be available to you – before, during and after placement – if you decide to adopt through SFCS.
We also offer a host of Adoption Resources and useful links to other adoption organisations which could offer you further information and support as you decide if adoption is right for you.
And if you have five minutes to spare, please take some time to read through the real adoption stories provided by couples and individuals who have adopted through SFCS. There is no better way to get a flavour of what adoption is really like.
We hope you’ll be able to spend some time looking through all of our adoption information over the Christmas period, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our adoption information events soon…
Enjoy the festive season!
