July 17, 2019
We start this Saturday, 20th July at 10.30am – 12 noon. This event is followed by our First Wednesday event on Wednesday 7th August between 6.30pm and 8pm. And if those dates don’t work for you, you can come along on Saturday 17th August at 10.30am.
All of our information events begin with a presentation by one of our experienced social workers, who will explain the adoption process and what you can expect from SFCS. You will then hear from one of our adopters, who will share their own experiences of becoming an adoptive parent.
You will also learn about The Triangle Project, our joint venture with Adoption Focus. The Project offers an alternative route to adoption through early permanence placements.
If you can’t wait for the events to come round, you can begin your adoption journey by looking through the wide range of information and resources on the SFCS website. Our site can help you to find out more about adoption, what the process involves and whether SFCS is the right agency for you.
If you’re considering adoption, our Who can adopt? page will help you to think about whether this is the right path for you and your family.
Everyone’s experience of the adoption process will be unique, but our adoption process page will give you a snapshot of the road to adoption. And if that piques your interest, you can find out much more by reading our Adoption Information Pack. This document takes you through the adoption process in greater detail, tells you more about the children who are awaiting adoption, and shares the viewpoints of both adopters and adopted children.
Our Adoption Support section will tell you all about the wide range of support which will be available to you – before, during and after placement – if you decide to adopt through SFCS.
We also offer a host of Adoption Resources and useful links to other adoption organisations which could offer you further information and support as you decide if adoption is right for you.
And if you have five minutes to spare, please take some time to read through the real adoption stories provided by couples and individuals who have adopted through SFCS. There is no better way to get a flavour of what adoption is really like.
We hope you’ll be able to spend some time looking through all of our adoption information over the next few weeks, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our adoption information events soon!
