SFCS is delighted to begin the New Year with good news! We are happy to announce that Graham Pellew, the Chair of our Adoption Panel, has been honoured in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
Graham is the Independent Chair of our Adoption Panel and has just been awarded an OBE for his services to children. This article in the Guardian highlights Graham and the other worthy recipients from the voluntary sector.
Graham holds a CQSW (1980) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Services Management (2005). He has been employed as an Adoption Manager since 1987 in a variety of Local Authority and Voluntary Adoption Agency (VAA) settings. Graham has recently retired as Deputy Chief Executive of Families for Children, another VAA.
As well as chairing our adoption panel, Graham has been undertaking a variety of adoption related work, including leading one of the projects to establish a Regional Adoption Agency.
We are thrilled for Graham and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition for his work.
