Please be assured, we are still welcoming new adoption enquiries and providing high-quality services and support to all of our adopters and other service-users.
As case numbers begin to rise again, staff are continuing to work from home, but we are all still contactable. If you know the mobile number of the staff member you need to speak to, please phone them directly. If not, you can still reach us by calling 01908 572700, as all calls are being re-directed during office hours. Outside of office hours, you can leave a voicemail.
If for any reason you are unable to get through or are not given the opportunity to leave a voice message, please email enquiries@sfcs.org.uk and we will return your call as quickly as possible.
We have suspended all events which were due to take place at our offices for the time being, and have moved many of our services online. This includes our information events, preparation groups, follow-on training workshops, Stay & Play sessions and our family social events. We’re very sorry we can’t see our families during the school holidays, but we look forward to seeing everyone when things return to normal.
Information events at our offices are temporarily suspended. However, we are hosting online information events via Zoom on the first Wednesday of each month. If you would like to join us for one of our online sessions, please email enquiries@sfcs.org.uk. We will take some basic details and send you the Zoom link and password, so that you can join us at the necessary time.
We are now hosting all of our Preparation Training and Therapeutic Parenting courses online via Zoom. We’re delighted that we are still able to offer these vital training courses to our prospective and existing adopters. Feedback regarding the Preparation Training has been incredibly positive, with one attendee saying, “The trainers were really good – they came across as really knowledgeable and also friendly/approachable. We can’t believe that it was 5 hours of training – it went really quickly and was enjoyable (unlike most long Zoom calls!).”
Initial visits with prospective adopters and home visits with those who have already begun the adoption process are being conducted over the phone or online using apps such as Zoom or WhatsApp – your social worker will discuss what works best for you. In some circumstances, we may be able to meet adopters face-to-face in their gardens, depending on what needs to be discussed. Again, your social worker will talk things through with you and ensure that you are comfortable at all times.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding at this difficult time. We are still here, and technology is allowing us to continue providing our high quality service to prospective and approved adopters, and all of our other service users. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
Please do keep an eye on our Latest News page and our Facebook and Twitter pages for further updates and information over the coming weeks.
