Are you a budding runner? Have you been training for a marathon run during lockdown? Or have you been increasing your fitness and hoping to run a 5k or 10k race when restrictions are lifted?
Then you might be interested in the Rightmove MK Marathon Weekend – and raising funds for SFCS while you run!
Between Friday 25th – Sunday 27th June, six different races will take place with a host of Covid safety measures in place. The races include a full marathon and a half marathon, plus 5k and 10k races and a Superhero Fun Run – see the full schedule of events here. There really is something for all ages and abilities, and it’s a great opportunity to ask for sponsorship and raise funds for SFCS.
For those who don’t feel comfortable taking part in a large event at this time, the MK Marathon team are also offering people the chance to take part in a ‘virtual race’ at any point between Monday 26th April – Sunday 9th May. You can choose which race you want to participate in, but you set your own start and finish location and your own route. MK Marathon will be using the latest virtual race technology to make the ‘virtual’ race experience as rewarding as the ‘in person’ experience.
If you would like to take part in any of the races which are taking place over the Rightmove MK Marathon Weekend, visit the event website to find details of all the races and to book your place(s).
Once you have registered to take part in a race, it’s easy to set up an online sponsorship page so that your friends, family and colleagues can donate and support you online. You can set up your own JustGiving page quickly and easily by clicking the orange ‘Fundraise for us’ button on our JustGiving page.
If you’re planning to run and raise funds for us, we’re here to support you all the way. Please let us know what you’re doing and how you’ll be collecting donations by emailing fundraising@sfcs.org.uk. We’d love to be able to stay in touch with you as you prepare for your race and support you by sharing your progress and fundraising page on our website and social media pages.
Thank you so much for your support – and good luck!
If running isn’t your thing, but you’d still like to support St. Francis’ Children’s Society, there are other ways you can help us. You could make a one-off donation on our JustGiving page, or you could become a Friend of St. Francis and support us with a regular monthly gift. The I’d Like To Help section of our website will give you lots of other ideas for raising funds to support our work with vulnerable children and their families. Thank you so much.
