Saturday Info Events

September 21, 2018

St. Francis’ Children’s Society is now making it easier than ever for you to come and talk to us about adoption!

We already host two adoption information events every month – an evening event on the first Wednesday of each month, and a lunchtime drop-in on the third Wednesday of each month.

However, we know that work and family commitments can sometimes make it difficult for people to attend events at these times – which is why we will now be opening our doors on Saturday mornings.

On selected Saturdays each month, we will be hosting an information event between 10.30am and 12 noon. If lots of people turn up, our social workers will give a proper presentation at 11am, to ensure that everyone gets the information they need.

The first Saturday event will be on 6th October, and the second will take place during National Adoption Week on 20th October.  Details of all forthcoming events can be found on the events page of our website and on our Facebook page.

When you attend one of our events, you’ll have a relaxed, one-to-one chat with our friendly social workers and be able to ask all those questions you want to ask. We’ll talk you through the adoption process and help you decide if adoption is right for you. We’ll also tell you about all the help and support you can expect if you decide to adopt with SFCS.

You will also learn about The Triangle Project, our joint venture with Adoption Focus. The Project offers an alternative route to adoption through early permanence placements.

We hope this move will encourage more people who are considering adoption to come and have a chat with us – no pressure, no obligation. Hope to see you soon!
