SFCS benefits from Christmas Present Fund

December 18, 2017

Las Iguanas present their cheque

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Dominic from Las Iguanas Milton Keynes to our offices, and he didn’t come empty-handed – he came with a cheque for £600!

Every year, each branch of the Las Iguanas restaurant chain chooses a charity to benefit from their Christmas Present Fund. This year, the Milton Keynes branch chose St. Francis’ Children’s Society. We are incredibly grateful for their support.

For every Christmas party booking of 10 or more they receive over the festive period, Las Iguanas donates £5 to the present fund.  The total raised is then generously matched by The Entertainer Toy Shop.

On Thursday 14th December, Dominic from Las Iguanas Milton Keynes visited our offices and met with our Family Services Manager and Adoption Support team, who provide all the extensive adoption support services that we offer to our adopters.  It was wonderful to be able to share with Dominic some of the invaluable work we do with vulnerable children and their families.

Surrounding our own Christmas tree, Dominic presented us with a special cheque for £600 which can be spent at The Entertainer Toy Shop.

We will use this generous donation to purchase items which will be used with the adopted children whom rely on our support services. This may include craft materials for our family activity days, play equipment for use in our Family Centre garden, and may even go towards presents for the children at next year’s Christmas Disco!

We are incredibly grateful for the support of Las Iguanas and The Entertainer Toy Shop.

If you would like to support our work with adopted children and their families, there are lots of ideas on the Fundraise for Us page of our website, as well as a downloadable fundraising pack. If you’re feeling particularly daring, there are also plenty of fundraising challenges you could consider. But if that all sounds too much like hard work, you can stay put on your sofa and simply make a donation instead! Thank you for your support. Happy Christmas!
