SFCS conference booking now open

June 08, 2016

We are delighted to announce that booking for the SFCS conference with renowned teacher, therapist and author Louise Bomber is now open!

The conference will take place between 9am and 4pm on Friday 11th November 2016 at The Ridgeway Centre in Milton Keynes.

This day of training is suitable for a wide range of parents / carers and professionals who are interested in understanding how to settle a troubled child to learn within a formal education setting.  It is intended to inspire those who attend, enabling them to realise that they can all contribute and make a difference, whatever their role or responsibility.

The day will also encourage alternative practices in schools by using an attachment framework to understand behaviour as communication.

Louise Bomber works as an Attachment Support Teacher and Therapist.  She offers a range of services supporting children and young people who have experienced significant relational traumas and losses. She also works as a clinical supervisor for counsellors and therapists working in schools.

Her work is informed in the main by Attachment Theory and Intersubjectivity Theory. She promotes and uses PACE, DDP, Theraplay and SAI interventions within her practice.

She is the author of ‘Inside I’m Hurting’ and ‘What About Me?’. Louise contributed to the book ‘Teenagers & Attachment’ and has recently co-authored Settling Troubled Pupils to Learn: Why Relationships Matter in School’ together with Dan Hughes.

During the conference, Louise will offer theoretical and practical advice for adopters, foster carers and professionals in how to support children with attachment difficulties in school.
