Support SFCS for Small Charity Week

June 11, 2021

Monday 14th June marks the start of Small Charity Week, and SFCS will be joining thousands of other small charities across the UK to bang the drum for small organisations which do such vital work in their communities.

Throughout Small Charity Week, we’ll be busy across our social media channels – sharing lots of simple, low cost ways to raise funds for SFCS.  We hope you’ll follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, and get involved by sharing our posts and helping us spread the word.

If you can’t wait to hear about all the easy ways you can support SFCS, here’s a sneak preview!

Make a donation

You can make a donation quickly and easily through our JustGiving page, and thanks to their new Giving Checkout scheme, we receive 100% of your donation. Click here to donate now.

You can also donate to our Small Charity Week Fundraiser on Facebook.

Set up a birthday fundraiser

Instead of receiving unwanted gifts for your birthday, why not ask for donations to SFCS in lieu of presents?  It’s easy to set up a fundraiser via our Facebook page so people can donate directly online. Visit our Facebook page and click ‘Create a fundraiser’ to get started.

Raise funds while you shop online

It costs you nothing to register with EasyFundraising and Amazon Smile to help raise funds for SFCS.

EasyFundraising is partnered with over 4,000 online retailers who will make a small donation to the charity of your choice when you shop with them on-line.  Similarly, when you place your order via the Amazon Smile site, SFCS receives a donation of 0.5% of your total bill. It might not sound like much, but every little bit helps and it’s so easy.  Join EasyFundraising here and Amazon Smile here, and watch the pennies mount up!

Take on a sponsored challenge

Are you a keen runner? A budding adventurer? Or a bit of a daredevil?  If you’re planning to take on a marathon, a trek or a skydive, why not raise funds for vulnerable children and their families at the same time?

Alternatively, you could do something that involves your whole family – maybe a cake sale, a read-a-thon or walking a certain number of steps during a day, week or month. You can find more ideas here.

Have a dress-down day at school

Why not get your child’s school involved?  A dress-down day or a sponsored read-a-thon can be easily arranged.  It’s also an opportunity to build your relationship with your child’s school and help them to understand the backgrounds and needs of adopted children.

Become a Friend of St. Francis

It costs over £500 a day to provide our extensive adoption support services to our adoptive families. We don’t receive funding for these services – we rely entirely on donors & fundraisers. By becoming a Friend of St. Francis, you can support our vital work with adoptive families with a monthly gift.  Find out more here.

Corporate partnerships

SFCS is passionate about ensuring children can reach their full potential. We’re looking to build mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses and organisations that share these values and want to invest in the next generation.

If you run a business or work for an organisation which might be interested in partnering with us, we would love to hear from you and explore how we can work together. You can contact us here to get the ball rolling.

We hope you will feel inspired to support us during Small Charity Week. And if you have other ideas for ways you’d like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact us at fundraising@sfcs.org.uk. We’d love to have an informal chat and offer you lots of support with your fundraising efforts.
