Thinking of organising your own event? Want to support us but not sure how? Or maybe you already know what you want to do but need a little help?
No matter how you choose to fundraise, we will be on hand to support you with advice to make your fundraiser a success.
Our Fundraiser is here to support you every step of the way so please tell us about your fundraising plans. Download our Fundraising Registration Form and post it or e-mail it to us.
Below we have put together some tips to help your fundraising go as smoothly as possible and offered some ideas to get you started. And if you plan to host an event to raise funds, our 'Legal Stuff' document will help you ensure you are running your event safely and responsibly.
If you have any questions or just fancy a chat, then we would love to hear from you. Give us a call on 01908 572700 or e-mail us at fundraising@sfcs.org.uk.
You can use these tips as a guide to help you plan a fun and stress-free event.
No matter how you fundraise, we’ll be here to help. Whether you need tips for getting raffle prizes or venues for your event, or help with promoting it, we can support you.
You could ask for donations instead of presents at big occasions such as birthdays and weddings. Set up a simple fundraiser on Facebook or JustGiving, or use our Sponsorship Form to collect pledges from your friends and family. We can also supply gift aid envelopes to make your fundraising go further with gift aid.
Host a coffee morning or bake sale. You could even get the children involved and organise a Let’s Eat! event.
Organise a dress down day at work or school and ask everyone to bring a donation.
Host your own charity ball for a night of glitz and glamour! Auctions and raffles are also popular. You can ask friends, family or local businesses to donate prizes.
If you belong to a golf club, why not organise a charity golf day to raise funds? Or if your club has a Charity of the Year, consider nominating us.
If held at a pub or restaurant, ask if they would be happy to provide some drinks vouchers as the prize. You could also hold a raffle to boost your total. Here are some quiz questions to make it even easier!
Bucket collections are a great way to raise awareness of SFCS as well as raising money. They can take place in shopping centres, sports events, train stations and even supermarkets. Please let us know before organising a collection, so that we can supply branded buckets and ensure that you will be collecting in an appropriate place.
If you raised money through Facebook or JustGiving, you can sit back and relax – your money is already with us! If you collected money in person, then you can send in your sponsorship in the following ways:
Collis House, 48 Newport Road, Woolstone, Milton Keynes, MK15 0AA (don’t forget to let us know your name so we know who to thank!)
Like any successful children’s charity, we rely on the activities of our dedicated volunteers and regular benefactors, who raise funds, donate and promote an understanding of our work.
Much of the work which St. Francis’ Children’s Society undertakes is dependent on voluntary funding, so your continued help is much needed – and appreciated!
