St. Francis’ Children’s Society will gladly offer a range of support to anyone who wants to take part in a marathon, half-marathon, 5k event, or any other running event to raise funds for us.
Below are some suggestions for local events which take place each year, but we can also support you if your challenge takes place outside our area. If you have secured your own place in a running event and would like to fundraise for us, please email our Fundraiser. She will be glad to support you and explain how we can help publicise your fundraising efforts.

With 4,500 acres of woodlands, lakesides, parks and landscaped areas within the city boundary, Milton Keynes is the ideal setting for a Green City Marathon. The MK Marathon course is a single lap, traffic-free route on closed roads and cycle paths and has great PB potential.
This Marathon weekend also includes a half marathon, a relay, 5k and 10k races, as well as a fun run. So whatever your level of fitness, there's bound to be a challenge suitable for you.
The races are going ahead this year with a host of Covid safety measures in place. But if you don't feel comfortable attending an organised event at this time, the MK Marathon team are also offering people the chance to take part in a ‘virtual race’ during the same weekend.
The Northampton Half-Marathon race starts with a tour of Northampton’s heritage. Starting at the Guildhall, touring the town centre and an inspiring finish in the shadow of Delapre Abbey make a terrific backdrop for the Northampton Half Marathon.
Start the festive season off in style with a fun run to raise funds for SFCS. Santa suits are included in the cost of your registration! Following the success of the Virtual Santa Fun Run in 2020, the organisers will also be offering a virtual running experience between 4th - 12th December. More details can be found here.
Some companies will match their employees' fundraising efforts. You can speak to your HR department to find out if your employer will support you in your fundraising challenge.
